this is a free download that allows you to talk (or just listen) to us "cool" people while you play the game. this can help organize better strategy with your teammates and ask some tactical questions of the Praetorian (really good pilots or the people you love to hate).

IRC is an Internet Relay Chat system that is also free to download. The reason you might want this is for text chat. For example you are in an interesting conversation in the lobby with your buddy. The game starts and you cant keep chatting, this is where IRC comes in . You just keep the window open and you can chat. You could make alliances and form flight squadrons here. This will hopefully not be needed once the awesome people at IMBA change the Lobby layout.  IRC channel #MoonBreakers

    If you are just getting here Beginners Advice is the best place to start. Reading this thread can turn you from frustrated boob-noob to confident pilot in no time flat. Most of the top players are more than happy to help you out if you have questions about anything (game related).

 I can't stress enough how being in Ventrilo and reading the forums here will help your game , in both skill and fun-factor.

so the upgrades go up like this: 1,2,3,4,4

but the text is correct when I cursor over it. So i feel it is just graphical and i do have a lvl 5 upgraded shield generator

1000 win

500 loss

100 kill

75 turret

50 torpedo

0 assist

so if you killed 3 ships and your team wins you will get 1300 credits. 1000 credit for winning plus 300 credits for your 3 kills.

 hit tab in game and the spread sheet will tell you what you have destroyed and from that you can calculate your score. you can also call this up after the match has ended but before you get to the lobby again.

 also in a Search & Destroy match you can attack the carrier and destroy it repeatedly for 300 credits each time. this won't end the game.

In carrier assault if you hold off on destroying the carrier you can accumulate a lot of points before the end of the match. I have seem people with over 80 kills in a carrier assault match. that is  8000 credit alone !!! At that point the 500-800 (remember if you blow up the carrier you get 300 credit) credit difference in your score from winning/losing seems negligible.
